Reading MLCTS

Tone marks
A full stop marks the creaky tone and a colon the high tone. No mark means low: က ka., ကာ ka, ကား ka:
Spelling, not sound
MLCTS follows the written form: မြန်မာ mran ma, though it's said “myanma”.
Stacked consonants
A stack joins the two syllables it spans: မန္တလေး manta. le:
Transcription, not translation
The result shows how a word is written in Latin letters, not what it means.
